Summit Series Championship Bracket Guidelines

These Classes are out of date and need to be updated for the 2007 season

Super Pro

(quarter-mile, 7.50-11.99) (12.44*) All entries must be minimum 11.99 NHRA Tech legal, regardless of dial-in.

  • Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See General Regulations 9:1.
  • Data Recorders: Prohibited. See General Regulations 9:2 & 9.2A.
  • Delay Boxes: Permitted. One box/device only attached to transbrake and/or throttle timer only. Delay box may only display delay amount. All direct wiring must be clearly identifiable to the tech inspector.
  • Transbrake: Permitted.
  • Line-loc: Four-wheel line-loc permitted.
  • Automated Shifter: Permitted.
  • Throttle Control: Permitted per NHRA Rulebook.
  • Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting-line and or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two-steps, rev limiters, or any other rpm-limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a downtrack rpm controller, prohibited.
  • Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, light source or any other nonmechanical-type switch and/or button prohibited.
  • Tow vehicles permitted.

  • Automated Shifter: Permitted, single function controller only.
  • Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver's foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A deadstop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.
  • Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Starting-line and/or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two-steps, rev limiters, or any other rpm-limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a downtrack rpm controller, prohibited.

Sportsman

  • Data Recorders: Prohibited. See General Regulations 9:2 & 9:2A.
  • Delay Boxes: Prohibited.
  • Transbrake: Permitted.
  • Line-loc: Four-wheel line-loc prohibited. Two-wheel line-loc permitted on non-drive wheels only.
  • Automated Shifter: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipped.
  • Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver's foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A deadstop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.
  • Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Single-stage rev limiters permitted. Rev limiters or any other rpm-limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed in so as to function as a downtrack rpm controller, prohibited. Crank trigger system prohibited, unless OEM distributorless ignition.
  • Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, and light source or any other nonmechanical-type switch and/or button prohibited.
  • Tow vehicles: Prohibited.
  • Exhaust: Muffler(s) required.
  • Tires: DOT tires required.
Pro Bike E.T.
(quarter-mile, 7.50-15.99) (16.59*) Non-electronics category except those permitted in Electronics Definition. See general regulations 9:1.
High School

(quarter-mile, 12.00-25.00) (25.93*)

  • No electronics unless OEM equipped.
  • Conventional, four-wheeled vehicles utilizing a daily-driver configuration.
  • No motorcycles, ATVs, dune buggies, altereds, or dragsters.
  • DOT or OEM tires accepted.
  • Exhaust: Functional muffler(s) required. Exhaust must run through the mufflers.
  • Automated shifter: Prohibited unless OEM equipped.
  • Transbrake: Prohibited.
  • Nitrous Oxide: Prohibited.
  • Data Recorder: Prohibited.
  • .5 full Tree (optional staging)
  • 12.00 is the absolute limit. first infraction results in a warning, second infraction results in disqualification from the event.
  • Driver must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Not necessary for vehicle to be registered or insured (high school project vehicles).

* - indicates conversion to altitude plus .10-second dial-in allowance where applicable.
